FIFTY-FIFTY

The performance was created within the framework of the ACTORS’ INITIATIVES STAGE. Among other things, the Bunkier Stage is a place for the presentation of performances whose initiators are the actresses and actors of our theatre. Following the idea of “theatre of many voices, many views”, the Actors’ Initiatives give our artists the opportunity to present their own point of view on the world together with art and to give individual expression to the works of their choice.

A night full of questions and doubts. Karol is exhausted from caring for his ailing mother and dreams of a long journey. His brother Jan is waiting for an inheritance that will free him from financial problems. As long as their mother is alive, the realisation of both brothers’ life plans and dreams is in question.

“Fifty-Fifty” is a drama in comedy guise, a black comedy about the power of desire, brotherly bonding and life’s troubles. The complicated story of the relationship between the brothers and their mother is told here in a funny yet thought-provoking way.

Ogólnopolski Konkurs na Wystawienie Polskiej Sztuki Współczesnej ma na celu nagradzanie najciekawszych poszukiwań repertuarowych w polskim teatrze, wspomaganie rodzimej dramaturgii w jej scenicznych realizacjach oraz popularyzację polskiego dramatu współczesnego. Konkurs organizowany jest przez Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego oraz Instytut Teatralny im. Zbigniewa Raszewskiego w Warszawie.
