At the end of the 1970s, Filip Mosz, a supplier from a small town, buys an amateur camera. He wants to immortalise the successive stages of his daughter’s life from her very birth. Happy with only basic expectations, suddenly feels the need for more than just peace and quiet. This is the story of Filip from the film “Camera Buff” (1979) by Krzysztof Kieślowski – one of the most outstanding films in the so-called “the cinema of moral concern” – which we are bringing to the stage today.

Forty years on, his son, like the main character in Kieslowski’s film, is a man who is awakened by the need to search for true meanings and values. Through the difficult choices he faces every day, he learns the price of truth, honesty, the importance of responsibility and the limits of creative freedom.

Ogólnopolski Konkurs na Wystawienie Polskiej Sztuki Współczesnej ma na celu nagradzanie najciekawszych poszukiwań repertuarowych w polskim teatrze, wspomaganie rodzimej dramaturgii w jej scenicznych realizacjach oraz popularyzację polskiego dramatu współczesnego. Konkurs organizowany jest przez Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego oraz Instytut Teatralny im. Zbigniewa Raszewskiego w Warszawie.

The partner and co-producer of the performance is The Stanisław Wyspiański Śląski Theatre in Katowice
The play takes part in the 28th National Competition for the Exhibition of Polish Contemporary Art.
The aim of the National Competition for the Exhibition of Polish Contemporary Art is to reward the most interesting repertoire research in Polish theatre, to support Polish drama in its stage productions and to popularise Polish contemporary drama. The Competition is organised by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute in Warsaw.
In the first stage of the Competition, the performances are judged by the Artistic Committee consisting of: Paweł Kluszczyński, Katarzyna Lemańska, Andrzej Lis, Jacek Sieradzki (chairman), Katarzyna Tokarska – Stangret, Wiktoria Tabak, Agnieszka Wójtowicz.
