POV: you're 12 years old and you're fu**ed
Arek, a boy experiencing peer violence at school, is withdrawing more and more into himself and his room. Not being the most popular person in his class, he feels alienated among his peers. Yet there is one thing that never leaves him – the Persistent Thought in his Head. It constantly presents him with the worst-case scenarios. Perhaps he offended someone and has already forgotten about it? Or maybe he thought of something that caused an irreversible catastrophe? This Persistent Thought stays with him at every step, just like his bullies.
The play tells the story of violence from the perspective of a teenage boy trying to make sense of the world around him. It addresses the issues of loneliness and the mental health crisis among adolescents. This production, part of the „Fake&Hate. Opolskie Without Violence” project, is the first premiere of the play.
The script was awarded in the 35th Competition for a Play for Children and Young People organized by the Children’s Art Centre in Poznań.

„Gołosz and Streker thus adapt the play’s challenging subject matter to the viral conventions of the production. This allows them to address the problems faced by young people in a way that feels closest to them – without adding what they themselves, as adults, might consider important.”
Kamil Bujny, Czas Kultury
„The play is also a beautiful tribute to young adults (aged 12–16), for whom theatre repertoires offer relatively few productions that are truly appropriate for their age. I highly recommend visiting the JK Opole Theatre and seeing POV: You’re 12 Years Old and You’re FU**ED, directed by Marta Streker.”
Krzysztof Antonik, teatralnie.pl
„Everything about this production seems to be of a high quality. The set design by Katarzyna Leks – centred around a battered sofa, surrounded by a mobile film track (used for a camera trolley), with a television, chair, camera and swimming-pool ladder handle installed on it – is truly wonderful. In a simple yet striking way, it portrays not only the world of the protagonist, twelve-year-old Arek, who experiences constant peer violence at school, but also draws attention to the repetitive nature of this world, a kind of everyday routine in which this young person, together with those around him, is caught.”
