URBAN WEEDS
Urban flora: mosses, grasses, weeds, flowers, shrubs and trees. Nature fights for every bit of available space as it tries to squeeze into the architecture of an urban landscape and transforms it. What if one day man lost control and nature took over the lost power of the concrete metropolis?
Although plants accompany us throughout our lives, we sometimes forget they exist. So commonplace – they become invisible. Only their absence forces us to reflect.
„Urban Weeds” is a musical performance presenting a post-apocalyptic vision of the world in which nature takes over the reins and plants regain their voice. Here, the rhythm of urban music will intertwine with the musical landscape of nature. Mythologies and customs about the plant world will be intertwined with questions about ecology and the shared future of humans in nature.

The play was accepted for the 27th National Competition for the Performing of Polish Contemporary Play.
The competition aims to popularise contemporary Polish drama, promote native playwrights, support theatres staging Polish drama and adaptations of Polish contemporary literature and reward the most interesting repertoire research in Polish theatre, support native drama in its stage productions and popularise Polish contemporary drama. The Competition is organised by the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport and the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute in Warsaw.
In the first stage of the Competition, the performances are judged by the Artistic Committee consisting of: Anna Jazgarska, Justyna Landorf, Andrzej Lis, Henryk Mazurkiewicz, Barbara Pitak-Piaskowska, Jacek Sieradzki (chairman), Paweł Stangret.
