The times of the German occupation. On Warsaw scenes, there are pornographic cabarets and demoralising art created in the propaganda spirit. Polish actors perform. They are watched by the crowds of the Polish audience. Only the first will be condemned for disobedience. Those who had a choice between a heroic attitude related to the risk of losing life, the work of a waiter or a cloakroom, and ultimately making a deal and playing in the service of Nazi ideas. Some did not have that choice – saving the Jewish wife or son in Oświęcim was more important than the consequences of devoting himself to the service of the devil. And the drastic effects of infamy – from shaving heads to the death at the hands of counter-intelligence – await them.

‘Collaborators’, directed by Piotr Ratajczak, uncover dark pages of the history of the Polish theatre and cinema. See what was so amusing for the Polish audience during World War II and perhaps, you may have fun with us! The Opole cabaret will be performed, among others, by Adolf Dymsza, Igo Sym, Ina Benita, Bogusław Samborski and many others. The play and fun in the 30’s style (feathers, fishnet stockings and live band) cannot take place without your participation!

the media about the performance:

‘Collaborators’ is a very original play – ranging from an excellent script full of witty and ironic jokes, allusions and quotes from our contemporariness , unique set design to stage abilities of every single actor or actress that do their best in front of the audience. Entertainment on the highest level – intelligent and reflective.

Iwona Kłopocka, Nowa Trybuna Opolska

For Jan Kochanowski Theatre this play is an excellent continuation of the season full of experiments and unobvious solutions thanks to which the whole team is visibly in great shape. I can see the merit of that in young generation, especially two young actresses – Magdalena Maścianica and Monika Stanek. Subtle and seductive brunette and provocative blonde. Two obvious talents, two different types of beauty and charisma that complete each other perfectly.
