THE SPHERICALS

The performance is a realisation of the winning performance idea from the 4th edition of Modelatoria Competition for Theatrical Project.

THIS PERFORMANCE IS A FUSION OF TWO FORMS OF STAGE EXPRESSION: DRAMA THEATRE AND CHOREGORAPHY. CHOREGORAPHY IS A MEETING BETWEEN SOLOISTS, I.E. INDIVIDUALS FOCUSED ON INDIVIDUAL ACTION, AND A SPHERE, A MOVEMENT FORM MADE UP OF TWO BODIES WHOSE AIM IS TO CREATE A PERFECTLY CIRCULAR STRUCTURE.

As the audience enters the Modelatornia stage, they meet five actors and dancers who look at their own bodies and their vulnerability. They lead the audience into a space of language games, a lottery of associations, a search for meanings or the creation of ideologies. In doing so, they invite the audience to co-create theatre. For the creators of the performance, the body and its experience have no limits to interpretation and are intergenerational, hence the title Bulletists will take any spectator from 12 to 102 years of age into their world.

This performance is an attempt to name the intangible and at the same time speculate on how movement can be conveyed in words. When looking at dance, do our thoughts also start to dance? The dancers (Szpunar and Fejdasz) dance and the actors (Caban, Świtała, Wosik) try to name what they see. Together with the need for perfection and the attempt to capture the choreography in words, the plot of the drama develops, which becomes a pretext to talk about what is individual, common, different and similar in us at the same time.

Spektakl bierze udział w 28. Ogólnopolskim Konkursie na Wystawienie Polskiej Sztuki Współczesnej.

Ogólnopolski Konkurs na Wystawienie Polskiej Sztuki Współczesnej ma na celu nagradzanie najciekawszych poszukiwań repertuarowych w polskim teatrze, wspomaganie rodzimej dramaturgii w jej scenicznych realizacjach oraz popularyzację polskiego dramatu współczesnego. Konkurs organizowany jest przez Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego oraz Instytut Teatralny im. Zbigniewa Raszewskiego w Warszawie.
