Norbert Rakowski

Theatre director.

Graduated from the National Higher School of Theatre in Warsaw (Acting Department) and the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw (Directing Department). In 1994 – 2004, he worked as an actor at the Współczesny (Contemporary) Theatre in Warsaw. As a director, he debuted with his original show Nagle (Suddenly) in the Studio Theatre in Warsaw. He mainly directs plays concerned with contemporary topics, in theatres in Poland and abroad. He was awarded with the Golden Mask for Le Placard (The Closet) by F. Veber and the Grand Prix at the international Korczak Festival for the play Kieszonkowa orkiestra (Pocket Orchestra). Director of the JK Opole Theatre since 2015.
